Zara Tindall shared a simple message for competitors at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials that captured the fearless spirit needed to take on one of eventing's toughest stages. The former world champion appeared in a motivational video shared by Burghley Horse Trials ahead of Saturday's competition, offering riders a memorable piece of advice. "Ride it like you stole it," Zara said. Princess Anne's daughter, an Olympic silver medallist and former world champion, has spent much of her life competing in eventing and understands the pressure, precision and nerve required when riders take on a course like Burghley.
Her appearance came after she was spotted at the trials on Friday, where she was among those watching the dressage. She also had a special meeting with one young fan. A social media post shared after the event revealed that young rider Aoife had the chance to meet Zara and speak with her about her dressage.
According to the post, Zara and her husband Mike praised the youngster for the hard work she had been putting into her training. The encouragement from the seasoned equestrian legends provided a memorable moment for the aspiring competitor during the prestigious weekend.
"Super lucky Aoife met and chatted with the lovely Zara Tindall and Yogi," the post read, adding that the pair were "full of amazing advice" and approved of the effort she was putting into her dressage, inspiring many other young talents following the event.
