Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has stated that the accountability of elements belonging to the banned Awami Action Committee (AAC) and their associates, who have targeted innocent citizens, is inevitable. He remarked that the violence, threats, and unrest orchestrated by the proscribed Awami Action Committee have made everyday life unbearable for the people of the region.
Expressing profound grief over the tragic loss of innocent human lives in the Pandi area of Bagh district, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The Prime Minister emphasized that the state would not tolerate any group undermining the peace and security of the region under the guise of political or social activism.
Meanwhile, Bagh Superintendent of Police (SP) Amir Uddin accused the banned Awami Action Committee of using ordinary citizens' homes as hideouts for their illegal and violent activities. He stated that such tactics are designed to create fear among the local population and challenge the writ of the state.
He directly linked this security situation to the tragic explosion in Pandi village on 29 October, which claimed 4 lives. In a video statement, the senior police official raised serious questions regarding the "troublemaking faction" exploiting residential properties for subversive acts, which resulted in the deaths of innocent people.
Detailing the incident, he said that 2 women and 2 children lost their lives in the blast, while a young girl sustained critical injuries. The police officer revealed that immediately following the incident, when law enforcement personnel initiated a search and clearance operation, miscreants associated with the Action Committee opened indiscriminate fire and launched grenade attacks.
The police official further noted that the use of explosives in a residential area indicates a dangerous escalation in the tactics employed by these elements. He assured the public that the security forces are fully committed to flushing out these miscreants from their hideouts.
He vowed that all individuals found complicit in the killing of innocent citizens will be brought to justice. The government has directed the local administration to ensure that the victims' families receive all necessary support during this difficult time.
The administration has also called upon the residents of Bagh to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately. The situation in the district remains tense but under control as police continue their search operations.
Political analysts in the region suggest that this crackdown is a significant move by the AJK government to restore order. The government's firm stance is expected to deter further attempts at destabilizing the region.
As the investigation into the Pandi blast continues, the authorities are gathering forensic evidence to identify the masterminds behind the attack. The government has reiterated that the rule of law will be upheld at all costs.
