The Philadelphia District Attorney's office has officially charged a foster mother in connection with the tragic death of 10-year-old Malayshia Allford. Following an intensive 10-day search operation, law enforcement officials discovered the child's body inside a vehicle parked at the Stonington Court Apartments in Lindenwold, New Jersey, at approximately 11 p.m. on November 4, 2026.
The Pennsylvania Police Department successfully tracked the suspect vehicle by analyzing CCTV footage captured on the day Malayshia Allford was reported missing. Investigators believe that this specific vehicle was utilized to transport the victim's body from the scene of the crime to the location where it was eventually recovered.
According to Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski, the breakthrough in the case occurred when investigators identified an individual who provided critical information, leading them directly to the body. Malayshia had been reported missing since October 22, when she was last seen at the residence of her foster mother, 36-year-old Carprice Williams, located in the 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philly.
During a press conference held on Thursday, November 4, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced that formal charges have been filed against Carprice Williams. The suspect faces multiple counts, including murder, abuse of a corpse, and several related criminal offenses.
The gravity of these charges reflects the severity of the findings uncovered during the investigation. A medical examiner conducted an autopsy and concluded that the 10-year-old child died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Consequently, the death has been officially ruled a homicide. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child's death initially commenced after Williams reported to the police that Malayshia had failed to return home from school and was unresponsive to phone calls.
The local community in West Philadelphia has expressed profound shock and grief over the incident. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they continue to gather further evidence to ensure justice for the young victim.
The District Attorney's office has emphasized its commitment to prosecuting the case to the fullest extent of the law.
