Tom Jones Reveals Pneumonia Battle Behind Recent Concert Cancellations

Tom Jones is opening up about a recent health scare that made him think, 'this is it.' After a week-long hospitalisation that forced him to cancel a few of his Come Gather Round Tour shows, the music icon, 86, made a triumphant return to the stage at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 4.

Though he had initially chalked it up to a 'bad case of the flu,' Jones told the crowd on Wednesday that it 'turned into pneumonia.' The four-time Grammy winner was rushed to UCLA, where he was in intensive care for two days.

'You've had a wonderful life, Tommy, but it's over right now.' Thankfully, Jones made a swift recovery and was eager to return to performing, even if the doctors at UCLA were a bit iffy. 'I said, 'I've got to get back on the stage,'' the Voice coach recalled. 'This is where I belong.

I can't live without this, believe me.' Wednesday's concert was actually the rescheduled show after Jones was forced to postpone the original October 26 date. He also postponed the San Diego date originally set for October 27.

He is next scheduled to take the stage in Highland, California, on November 6. Fans across the globe have expressed immense relief and joy over his quick recovery and triumphant return to live performances.

Organizers have confirmed that all remaining tour dates will proceed as planned, ensuring ticket holders experience the legendary performances they have been eagerly anticipating for months. Jones remains deeply appreciative of the unwavering support he received from his devoted fanbase during this challenging medical emergency.
