One of Britain's most wish-listed Airbnb properties, which resembles a spaceship more than a holiday home, has been listed for sale in Scotland for over £750,000. The unique property, known as AirShip 002, is situated on the Morvern Peninsula near Oban, overlooking the Sound of Mull.
Designed to mimic a futuristic aircraft, the aluminium-clad cabin features circular windows, a curved glass front, a wood-burning stove, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sea. However, the £750,000 asking price includes more than just the spaceship-shaped structure.
The sale encompasses two additional holiday homes, The PilotHouse and The Captain's Cabin, along with a two-bedroom residence known as The Old Chapel. According to estate agency Savills, the four-acre holiday complex has generated an annual turnover of approximately £100,000 over the past four years.
The properties were designed by 79-year-old architect Roderick James and his wife, interior designer Amanda Markham, 73. The couple initially developed AirShip 002 as a unique retreat before expanding the business due to its popularity among tourists.
James noted that the properties have attracted visitors from across the globe, including Japan. The PilotHouse is a two-storey structure with sea views, while The Captain's Cabin features a rooftop balcony overlooking the water.
The couple has decided to sell the business to focus on charitable projects in Rwanda, the birthplace of Roderick James. The properties have also been featured on television programmes, including 'Scotland's Greatest Escape' and 'Alan Cumming's Paradise Homes'.
Savills is currently accepting offers above £750,000 for the entire collection, drawing immense interest from global investors looking for unique hospitality ventures.
