Archie and Lilibet have prompted a British school to address the growing gossip that the Sussex children could soon be joining its classrooms. With the new school year just around the corner, a preparatory school in Oxfordshire sent a letter to parents directly addressing the rumours that the Sussexes may have their sights set on the private school.

According to the letter, verified and obtained by HELLO!, families were told that "despite the gossip" surrounding Archie and Lilibet potentially attending, "no application" had reached the headmaster's desk as of September 1. The school's admissions team, however, was said to be remaining "ever vigilant" - leaving the door open, at least for now, to the possibility that the Sussex children could one day appear on its pupil list.

The Sussexes are keeping the name of the school under wraps for security reasons, but it was confirmed recently that both children have secured places at a British school. Archie is expected to enter Year 3, while Lilibet will begin Year 1. The couple's decision comes as they prepare to spend an extended period in Britain after six years living in the United States.

Education expert Grace Moody-Stuart of the Good Schools Guide previously suggested that the siblings could attend the same school, saying the move would already be a "massive culture shock" for children who have grown up in America. She argued that a countryside co-educational preparatory school could offer the children a more easy transition, describing such schools as generally less academically pressured and more "freestyle" than the environment Harry himself experienced.
