Isla Fisher is opening up about a brief, unsuccessful attempt at dating following her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, describing a moment that instantly killed her interest in a potential new romance. Speaking in a clip shared on the Overheard Happy Hour TikTok account on Tuesday, September 1, alongside Spa Weekend co-stars including Leslie Mann and Anna Faris, Fisher recalled how the situation unraveled.
"I have a dating ick that happened recently. His dog ran away, and he chased his dog. But instead of chasing upright, he ran low with his hands outstretched, like a cartoon." She admitted the visual was enough to end her interest entirely, saying "the ick was growing and growing" as she watched.
Fisher, 50, and Cohen, 54, married in 2010 and separated in 2023 after 13 years together, jointly announcing the split in a joint statement that read, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy." The pair confirmed their divorce was finalised in June 2025, again issuing a joint statement.
"Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children." Since the split, Fisher has largely kept her dating life private, though she's continued to speak candidly about returning to work after what she's described as a parental "power pause", a period during which she prioritised raising the couple's three children over film work. She's previously described the privacy she maintained during her marriage as something that made it feel "private and valuable" to her.
