Jax Taylor demands $17,000 monthly spousal support from ex Brittany Cartwright

The divorce proceedings between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have taken a costly turn. The reality star has petitioned a judge to order his estranged wife to pay him approximately $17,000 per month in spousal support, while also seeking child support as their financial dispute escalates.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Taylor claims his entertainment career has suffered, making it difficult to secure work. He further alleges that Cartwright's public statements and actions have damaged his professional prospects.

Financial filings indicate Taylor reports an average monthly income of $30,334 against expenses of $28,944. He also estimates that Cartwright's company generated over $630,000 in gross income between January and May.

Taylor's attorney maintains that while his client did not initially intend to seek spousal support, circumstances have changed, insisting the request is not retaliatory. Cartwright's representative has previously denied claims of sabotage, stating she sought court protection following allegations of abuse.

Both parties were granted temporary restraining orders. The couple, who share a five-year-old son, Cruz, separated in 2024.

Taylor recently requested the court to declare him legally single, despite unresolved property and financial matters. The situation has grown more complex following Taylor's confirmation in August 2026 of a relationship with Lori Krebs - Cartwright's former publicist and close friend - with the pair spotted in West Hollywood in late September.

Legal experts suggest that the inclusion of third-party involvement and the nature of the financial claims could prolong the proceedings significantly. As both parties continue to navigate the legal system, the public interest in their high-profile split remains high.

The court is expected to review the financial disclosures in the coming weeks to determine the validity of the spousal support request. Until then, both Taylor and Cartwright remain under the constraints of their existing legal agreements.
