Kuwait's GPXP Eyes Expanded Energy Investment in Pakistan

Pakistan is seeking to deepen Kuwait-linked investment in its energy sector as Gulf Petroleum Exploration Pakistan considers expanding operations in the country, signaling renewed interest in exploration and development at a time Islamabad is looking to attract foreign capital. Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik welcomed the proposed expansion during a meeting Thursday with GPXP Chief Executive Officer Khaled Al Saati and Mosleh Al Otaibi of Gulf Petroleum Exploration. The Kuwaiti company, which operates in Pakistan's oil and gas exploration sector, expressed keen interest in increasing its investment and contributing further to the country's energy development. Malik assured the company of the government's support and facilitation for its expansion plans, according to a statement issued after the meeting. GPXP representatives thanked the government for its continued support and reiterated the company's commitment to Pakistan. They said the company was keen to expand its investment in the country's energy sector.
