Maya Jama has surprised fans by taking on a very different role in The Gentlemen season two. The Love Island presenter appears in the new season of the Netflix crime show as Aisha. Her character is revealed as the wife of Prince Amir bin Abdullah al Hadidi, who is connected to Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James.
Maya, however, first appears in the very first episode. She is mostly seen talking with Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario. The TV star also appears again in episode four. Susie describes Aisha as a 'clever girl' and 'aspirational,' as she says that Aisha looks after herself and the people around her.
Aisha moved to the Middle East 5 years ago to work in hospitality. She since became part of a very different world after marrying into royalty. The role, moreover, is a big moment for Maya as it is her first major scripted TV role. She earlier got a small part in Netflix's The Duchess.
Maya also talked warmly about working with Guy Ritchie, who created the show, calling him 'very personable' and said he was kind and made her feel comfortable while filming.
