Hunger Games star McKenna Grace has said she does not take on roles that involve explicit scenes, describing the prospect as terrifying. The 20-year-old actress made the comments in an interview with Cosmopolitan, speaking ahead of the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
"At this point, I definitely don't do nudity or very hypersexual things," she said. She added: "I respect anybody who can, but it's terrifying to me.
I don't know if that'll ever change." She pointed to her previous roles as proof that her work can be dark and diverse. She also spoke about her ambition to play a Disney princess one day.
The star's next big release is the Hunger Games prequel, which focuses on Haymitch Abernathy and arrives in cinemas on November 20. She plays Maysilee Donner, a District 12 tribute in the Second Quarter Quell.
Grace is a longtime fan of the franchise, and has spoken about making "Team Peeta" edits as a teenager. Having started out as a child actress, Grace has built a career that spans Gifted, I, Tonya and Regretting You, as well as TV roles in The Handmaid's Tale, The Haunting of Hill House and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Her journey in Hollywood has been marked by a steady transition from child star to mature actor, carefully selecting projects that align with her personal boundaries. Industry analysts have praised her dedication to maintaining these standards while continuing to secure prominent roles in major cinematic franchises.
Fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate her performance in the upcoming prequel, expecting it to be another standout moment in her rapidly expanding career. As she navigates the complexities of fame and professional growth, Grace remains grounded and focused on delivering compelling performances without compromising her core values.
