Meghan Markle is looking forward to a new beginning in Britain, but the move has been bittersweet as she had to leave her mum Doria Ragland behind in Montecito. Prince Harry has also noted that Doria plays an important role in their lives, especially for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Sadly, the Sussexes were not present when Doria marked her milestone birthday on Wednesday as she turned 70.
However, before leaving for the UK, Meghan reportedly made a promise to her mum, who is understood to be staying at the Sussexes' Montecito mansion, that she will not let her feel alone. 'Meghan plans to see her mom regularly,' a source told People Magazine, noting that they are incredibly close.
Moreover, a source previously told the outlet that the family wanted to spend time with the people they are closest to before they left. Although this was not a goodbye forever, Meghan really loves their life in Montecito and their home there.
They know it is going to take a little bit of time for everyone to settle in and adjust. There is excitement about what is ahead too, especially for the kids, and they are really happy for everything they will get to experience.
