Railways Minister Warns Pindi DS Over Officers' Absence

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi issued a final warning to Rawalpindi Divisional Superintendent (DS) Nooruddin Dawar after finding relevant officers absent during a surprise inspection of the Rawalpindi Railway Station. The minister inspected different sections of the station and inquired about the officers responsible for overseeing arrangements, expressing strong displeasure over their absence.

He telephoned the divisional superintendent directly from the station premises and demanded an immediate explanation regarding the administrative lapse and staff unavailability. "I am giving you the final warning," Abbasi told the DS, directing him to ensure that officers remained present on duty and strictly complied with instructions issued under the railway emergency.

The minister stated that emergency directives would be enforced across the board and officers were required to remain in the field to discharge their professional responsibilities effectively. He warned clearly that absence from duty, administrative negligence, and shirking official work would not be tolerated under any circumstances during this crucial operational period.

Footage of the surprise visit shows Abbasi inspecting the main platform, speaking to commuters and railway staff at the station, and issuing strict instructions over the telephone. Meanwhile, reliable sources within the Ministry of Railways revealed that a request for 120 days of leave submitted by Grade-20 officer Naveed Mubashir has been officially declined.

According to the ministry sources, Naveed Mubashir had earlier been removed from his post and subsequently submitted the extensive leave application on the very day of his transfer. The federal ministry subsequently refused to grant the requested long-term leave in view of the ongoing emergency measures and administrative requirements within the railways department.
