Rawalpindi police have registered a case against a suspect involved in a dangerous one-wheeling stunt with a woman, following a viral video on social media. Traffic authorities are utilizing Safe City cameras to identify and take legal action against all involved.
Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) took strict notice of the footage and directed officials to initiate immediate legal proceedings. According to police, the FIR was lodged on a formal complaint filed by the In-charge Traffic Cantonment.
Authorities reiterated that reckless driving and dangerous stunts on public thoroughfares will not be tolerated under any circumstances, as such acts pose severe threats to public safety and human lives on busy urban roads. The viral video sparked widespread outrage among citizens, prompting law enforcement agencies to act swiftly.
Social media monitoring cells flagged the clip within hours of its upload, leading to immediate administrative intervention. Traffic police officials confirmed that special teams have been deployed across major arteries of Rawalpindi, including Murree Road and Peshawar Road, to curb illegal motorcycle racing and gravity-defying stunts.
The Chief Traffic Officer emphasized that parents must also play a responsible role by keeping a strict check on their youth, preventing them from engaging in fatal sports that endanger innocent commuters. Legal experts noted that under the relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and traffic ordinances, repeat offenders of dangerous driving can face heavy fines, vehicle confiscation, and extended imprisonment.
Furthermore, the investigation team is examining vehicle registration data to trace the owner of the motorcycle used in the stunt, ensuring that all accomplices captured in the footage are brought to justice. Local traders and residents of the cantonment area have lauded the police action, demanding a permanent crackdown on youth groups performing late-night stunts that disrupt peace and endanger pedestrians.
Police concluded that the ongoing intelligence-based surveillance through Safe City cameras will continue round the clock, reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy against traffic violations across the garrison city.
