It is time for Princess Anne and her family to celebrate as daughter-in-law Harriet Phillips has been honoured with a prestigious new role. Peter Phillips' wife disclosed in a conversation with Hello!Magazine that she has taken on the role of patron for Home-Start Cotswolds.
Harriet stepped back from the NHS after fulfilling her role as a specialist nurse to champion vulnerable families and early years mental health. Harriet opened up about how becoming parents is simultaneously a wonderful and overwhelming life experience.
Much like Princess Kate, Harriet emphasised the importance of looking on a baby's well-being from an early age, noting that this is only possible when parents are also doing well. She added, "Having worked with Home-Start as a specialist nurse in Gloucestershire, I saw its impact first-hand and regularly referred families to it.
Home-Start approached me to ask if I would consider the role, and it felt like a completely natural fit." Discussing her new position, she mentioned that her connection with the organization goes back several years during her professional medical career in the region.
She noted that community health services often rely on community outreach programs to bridge the gap between families in need and professional medical assistance. Harriet explained that stepping away from her demanding hospital duties allowed her to focus on broader systemic support mechanisms for young children.
Speaking about her mission to champion the charity, Harriet said, "My primary role is to act as an advocate for the charity and raise awareness for its incredible community programs." Supporters of the royal family have welcomed the news, praising Harriet for dedicating her time and expertise to such a vital social cause.
The announcement is expected to bring considerable positive attention to the charity and help secure more resources for vulnerable households across the region.
