Russia Kills 11 in Massive Missile and Drone Strikes Targeting Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia fired 70 missiles and drones in one of its biggest strikes at Ukraine, targeting the energy sector and killing at least 11 people across the country. "One of the key targets was our energy infrastructure.

The Russians wanted to strike painfully and demonstratively," Zelenskiy said on Telegram, adding that ballistic missiles remain the greatest challenge and air defence packages are a vital necessity. The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia launched a total of 130 drones, 48 cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, while air defence units downed 161 targets, focusing attacks on Kyiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv.

Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's parliamentary commissioner for human rights, said on Telegram that Ukraine was once again hit throughout the night in another act of terror. Russia's defence ministry stated its forces carried out a massive strike on military-industrial facilities using high-precision weapons and drones.

In Pryluki, located in the northern Chernihiv region, a Russian missile slammed into a five-storey residential building, killing at least four people on the spot and wounding 20 more, with regional authorities warning more residents could be buried under the rubble as video images showed rescuers pulling people from the wreckage.
