Salma Hayek has officially entered her 60s, and she is not exactly losing sleep over the number. In fact, the actress says life feels pretty exciting right now.
At the 2026 Women in Film (WIF) Honors in Beverly Hills on November 5, Hayek opened up to People magazine about reaching the milestone on September 2 - admitting that the decade she once found intimidating has turned out to be surprisingly enjoyable. "It sounded so scary in the 20s, 30s, 40s, and even in the 50s.
It is not scary at all. Once you get here, it is not bad at all," she said.
"I am still doing what I love, and I have the blessing of my family, friends, health, energy, and dreams. Let us go," she added.
Hayek clearly is not slowing down; the Frida star recently made her feature directorial debut with Arena, which is yet to be released. When asked about future goals, she said, "I just directed my first film, and that is very exciting." As for another project behind the camera, she noted, "Let me finish this one.
Let us stay in the present. The present is great."
Her milestone birthday also featured a memorable celebration, with Hayek sharing photos of herself skinny-dipping on Instagram, captioning the September 7 post, "60 and grateful." There was another reason to celebrate, too: weeks before her birthday, Hayek became a grandmother for the first time when her stepson, François Pinault Jr., welcomed a baby boy.
She plans to call the little one "Panchito." The actress continues to be a symbol of grace and vitality in Hollywood, proving that age is merely a number when one maintains a positive outlook on life. Her fans across the globe have lauded her for embracing this new chapter with such confidence and joy.
