Selma Blair has made her first public appearance since her arrest, attending a 90s-themed fan convention in Hartford, Connecticut. The 52-year-old Cruel Intentions star participated in photo opportunities at the Connecticut Convention Center on Friday night, five days after she was arrested following a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York.
Local station WTNH reports that fans turned out in strong numbers to support her during this challenging time. The convention runs from Friday to Sunday, with Blair scheduled for photo ops at 5:30pm Friday, 11:50am Saturday, and 2:50pm Sunday.
Other high-profile guests include cast members from Full House, Hocus Pocus, and The Nanny. Blair has formally pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, relating to allegations that she kicked a Port Authority officer and a nurse after the flight landed.
She is scheduled to return to court in January for further legal proceedings. Her official representative previously stated that she suffered an unexpected medical emergency on the flight and possesses no prior arrest record.
WTNH reports that many fans, deeply aware of her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis through her memoir, showed unwavering support. Some attendees expressed surprise and admiration at her public appearance, noting it took immense courage to honor her professional commitment following the stressful incident.
