Todd Chrisley is not letting online critics have the last word about his daughter Savannah's marriage, and his mother, Nanny Faye, had a rather cheeky take on the whole controversy. Savannah, 29, has faced accusations of being a "gold digger" since news broke that she secretly married businessman Jason Galanis, 56, and is expecting their first child together.
Their 27-year age gap has also fueled plenty of online chatter. Galanis served federal prison time in 2020 after being linked to multimillion-dollar securities fraud schemes, but President Donald Trump commuted his sentence in March 2025.
During an October 30 episode of his 'Two Sons and Me' podcast, Todd, 57, pushed back against the claims. "There were comments today in the press about Savannah's ring, the size of it, that she is engaged to a billionaire because she's a gold digger," he said.
Nanny Faye was not exactly scandalized by the accusation. "If I knew one and I stood a chance like her, I'd be digging 24/7, till I got him," she joked.
Todd laughed before adding his own punchline, saying that if Savannah really were a gold digger, "it would have helped out if she would have started digging when I was paying all these legal fees." He then argued that critics were overlooking Savannah's own business success, pointing to her clothing line, cosmetics, and Good Girl RX.
The family has remained a constant subject of tabloid interest, particularly given the legal hurdles the Chrisley family has faced in recent years. Todd emphasized that Savannah has built her own financial independence through her various ventures.
