Two Pakistani citizens were martyred and another was injured after Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened unprovoked fire near the Pakistan-India international border in Kasur, security sources said on Friday.
The three Pakistani citizens from Punjab's Ladhar village were targeted by the BSF without warning after they moved only a few steps ahead of a border pillar, the sources said, adding that all three citizens were unarmed.
According to the sources, the martyrs were identified as Azmat Rasool Shah and Mohsin Jutt, both residents of Jattan Wali Haveli in Ladhar. The sources maintained that none of the three individuals had attempted to cross the border fence, describing the firing as unprovoked and an open violation of border agreements and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The sources further stated that the Indian media also portrayed the civilians as infiltrators, reflecting a persistent pattern of framing such incidents as false-flag operations. This action by Indian forces comes just a day after the Pakistani military exposed a false-flag operation by India, which had claimed to have killed a former Pakistani soldier during a staged encounter in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
To prove that the retired Special Services Group (SSG) commando was innocent, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry presented Havildar Muhammad Asif before the media, who personally stated that he is alive and residing in Pakistan.
