Liverpool have reportedly contacted the representatives of Kylian Mbappe to discuss a sensational world-record deal for the Real Madrid superstar, who feels "uncomfortable" playing in Spain. As reported by Spanish journalist Francois Gallardo on the program Defensa Central, several English Premier League clubs are interested in Mbappe; however, the player's priority is Liverpool.
It is reported that Liverpool have already approached Mbappe's mother and agent, Fayza Lamari. "The player does not feel loved and supported in the Real Madrid dressing room, which makes him uncomfortable," claimed Gallardo.
"The transfer fee will be around 200-250 million euros." Gallardo also stated on X: "Kylian Mbappe is angry and disappointed with Real Madrid. He has decided to leave the club in the summer of 2027, and Real Madrid will not stop him.
"His next destination is the Premier League." The 27-year-old Mbappe joined the club for free in 2024, having scored 94 goals in 111 matches for Los Blancos. Meanwhile, doubts persist regarding how Mbappe fits alongside Vinicius Junior, leaving Real Madrid in a "tactical cul-de-sac."
While rumors suggest Real Madrid may be unwilling to let him go, these claims remain unconfirmed by reliable sources. It is highly unlikely any deal occurs before next summer.
Mbappe previously mentioned that he almost joined Liverpool in 2017, as his mother was a "big fan" of then-manager Jurgen Klopp. Nevertheless, with Liverpool currently overstaffed in attack, the rumors persist regardless.
The potential transfer has sent shockwaves through European football, as supporters and pundits alike debate the feasibility of such a massive financial commitment. Financial fair play regulations could also play a significant role in determining whether Liverpool can pull off a deal of this magnitude.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has repeatedly expressed satisfaction with his squad, yet the underlying friction regarding tactical roles on the pitch continues to fuel speculation in the media. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Mbappe's performances and any subtle hints he might drop regarding his long-term future in the Spanish capital.
Ultimately, whether this transfer saga materializes into reality or remains mere summer gossip, it highlights the shifting dynamics of elite club football in modern times.
