Omani FM to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow on two-day visit

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi will undertake a two-day official visit to Pakistan on October 13-14 to hold high-level diplomatic discussions. In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the spokesperson confirmed that Albusaidi is visiting Pakistan at the special invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

During his stay in the federal capital Islamabad, the visiting dignitary will actively participate in the 8th session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), according to the Foreign Office briefing. The high-level Joint Ministerial Commission will primarily focus on deepening cooperation across various crucial sectors, including bilateral trade, foreign investment, manufacturing industry, agriculture, and financial services.

Additional focal points for the extensive ministerial meetings include oil and gas exploration, labour exchanges, consular affairs, internal security, defence cooperation, and mitigation of climate change impacts. Furthermore, discussions will encompass civil aviation connectivity, higher education partnerships, media collaboration, and cultural exchanges to bring the peoples of both nations closer together.

The foreign ministers of both brotherly countries will co-chair the landmark session to ensure comprehensive strategic alignment and mutual progress on regional and global issues of common interest. The upcoming meeting will serve as an extremely important diplomatic platform to review the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Oman bilateral relations and further strengthen multifaceted cooperation.

The Omani Foreign Minister is also widely expected to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his official itinerary in Islamabad, the statement added. Pakistan and Oman historically enjoy exceptionally close, brotherly relations deeply rooted in shared history, Islamic faith, and enduring cultural values that span generations.

Political analysts note that this high-level visit perfectly reflects the longstanding fraternal ties between the two nations and is expected to unlock new avenues of economic partnership. Ultimately, both governments anticipate that the consultations will further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across multiple strategic sectors for the shared prosperity of their citizens.
