The Philadelphia 76ers suffered a blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who restricted King James to just 8 points, in a 119-95 rout on Friday night. The NBA Cup game saw LeBron visiting the Cavs 16 years later; for the first time as a 76ers player, he received a buzzing welcome on Friday, November 6.
James finished the night with 8 points, the season's lowest on 3-of-12 shooting from the field (0 of 4 on 3-pointers), 7 rebounds, three assists, 2 steals and 6 turnovers in 32 minutes. The NBA's all-time leading scorer, James failed to reach double figures, scoring in just 10 regular-season games in his career.
LeBron had a long streak of scoring at least 10 points in every regular-season game he played against the Cavs, 396 games in a row, but that ended on Friday night. Speaking in a postgame locker room talk with reporters, LeBron said it was "great" how Cavs fans received him in his latest homecoming game.
"I don't know because, at the end of the day, nothing can get as worse as December 2, 2010, from a reception standpoint," James said. "So, I've seen damn near the depths of hell when it comes to reception here all the way to, like, the heavens above.
So, anything in between is easy money," he added. The Cavaliers avenged their 114-106 season opener loss on October 22, when the Cavs blew a 29-point lead during James' first home opener game in Philadelphia.
