Ten terrorists belonging to the banned outfit Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during a high-stakes intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Barkhan district of Balochistan, a CTD spokesperson confirmed on Saturday. The operation was executed under the strategic framework of 'Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3' in the remote Rarasham Valley, following credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of high-value militant targets in the area.
According to the official statement released by the CTD, the security forces launched the raid in the early hours of the morning to neutralize the threat. Upon reaching the designated location, the militants opened fire on the approaching security personnel, leading to a fierce gun battle that lasted for several hours.
The security forces retaliated with precision, successfully eliminating 10 terrorists who were reportedly involved in multiple attacks against law enforcement agencies. The CTD spokesperson further detailed that a significant quantity of sophisticated weapons, including automatic rifles, explosives, and a large cache of ammunition, was recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
These materials were reportedly intended to be used for subversive activities within the province. The site has been cordoned off, and a search operation is currently underway to ensure the area is completely cleared of any remaining threats.
During the intense exchange of fire, two CTD personnel sustained injuries. They were immediately provided with first aid and subsequently shifted to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
Their condition is reported to be stable, and they are currently under medical observation. Senior officials have commended the bravery of the personnel involved in the operation.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) reiterated its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism from Balochistan. The department emphasized that the security forces, including the police and other intelligence agencies, remain vigilant and fully prepared to counter any attempts to destabilize the region.
Such intelligence-based operations will continue as part of the broader strategy to ensure lasting peace and security for the citizens of the province. Local authorities have expressed their support for the security forces, noting that the successful operation in Barkhan is a significant blow to the operational capabilities of the militant group.
The provincial government has also lauded the efforts of the CTD in maintaining law and order, promising continued support for the security apparatus in their ongoing efforts to combat extremism across the region.
