Hina Javed Murder: Rawalpindi Court Sends Prime Suspects to Jail on Judicial Remand

A district and sessions court in Rawalpindi on Wednesday sent the two main suspects in the Hina Javed murder case to jail on judicial remand. Hina, a digital media executive, was found dead at her home in Rawalpindi's Lalkurti area on August 20, with her body tied to a shower in the bathroom.

The suspects - the victim's husband, Faisal Asghar, and their domestic worker, Zeeshan - were produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Qasim Javed after the completion of four days of physical remand. During the hearing, police sought judicial remand for both suspects, which the court accepted.

Police claim that Asghar killed his wife with the assistance of Zeeshan. According to police sources, Zeeshan has confessed to strangling Hina during a marital dispute between the couple. On August 29, the court had extended the physical remand of both suspects by four days to facilitate further investigation.

Investigators stated that Zeeshan revealed during interrogation that Hina tried to flee during the altercation, after which he and Asghar restrained her. Police sources added that the incident initially came to light when the victim's father-in-law alerted authorities, falsely claiming that thieves had broken into the house before police discovered the body in the bathroom.
