Family members and party leaders seeking to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan were unable to meet him at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, the designated day for scheduled visits. Police established multiple checkpoints around the facility to restrict movement.

Khan's three sisters - Aleema Khan, Noreen Khan and Dr Uzma Khan - were stopped by law-enforcement officials at the Factory Checkpoint upon their arrival. Concurrently, a delegation of senior PTI leaders and legal representatives faced similar restrictions at designated police checkpoints.

Barrister Gohar Khan, PTI founder's spokesperson Niazullah Niazi, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, Ali Zaman and Khawaja Farooq Ahmed were halted at the Dahgal Checkpoint. Meanwhile, Salman Akram Raja, Shahid Khattak and Fatehullah Burki were turned away at the Factory Checkpoint.

The jail administration maintained a strict prohibition throughout the day, refusing entry to all visitors attempting to meet the detained party chief. The restrictions prevented both family members and party representatives from carrying out their scheduled visits with Imran Khan.

The development came despite Tuesday being designated as a day for meetings with the PTI founder, with family members and party leaders arriving at the jail in an attempt to meet him. However, the multiple checkpoints established around the prison facility effectively blocked their access and resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled visits.

PTI leaders and family members expressed concern over the restrictions, while the authorities did not immediately provide details regarding the reasons for preventing the visitors from entering the jail premises.
