Judicial Commission Sends Mir Raza Inquiry Report To Sindh CM

The Sindh High Court's judicial commission constituted to investigate young entrepreneur Mir Raza's murder has submitted its inquiry report to the provincial chief minister. The commission's registrar, Abdul Majid, handed over the four-volume report to Additional Secretary Home Javed Ahmed Abro, the CM's focal person for the commission.

The report includes a covering letter from commission head Justice Omar Sial, an executive summary, the main report, witness statements, and a two-part appendix. Abro later told journalists that the government would decide whether to make the report public, noting that the commission's proceedings were conducted in an open court.

Days earlier, Raza's family wrote to the CM requesting a copy of the findings, conclusions, and recommendations. They also demanded a joint investigation team comprising federal and provincial officers with no prior involvement in the case.

The family's counsel, Jibran Nasir, urged the CM to ensure no administrative steps are taken to reconsider, supersede, or invalidate the findings of the special medical board formed under Section 16 of the Sindh Medicolegal Act, 2023. He reiterated the urgent demand for an independent JIT comprising officers of impeccable professional integrity.

The high-profile murder case has drawn immense public attention across the province, prompting legal experts and civil society members to closely monitor the judicial proceedings. Further administrative and legal measures are expected to be announced by the Sindh government following a comprehensive review of the submitted report's contents.
