Lt Gen Nazir Ahmad (retd), chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), said on Thursday that the bureau is preparing to launch a locally developed artificial intelligence-based research model, "NAB-Eye". NAB and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have agreed in principle to establish long-term cooperation to promote research for institutional reforms and policymaking.
Addressing a special lecture organised by SDPI, the NAB chairman said the bureau was working to strengthen its research and analytical capacity in policy and legal matters. He said NAB was preparing a 10-year roadmap and viewed SDPI as a long-term research partner in the process.
The chairman said NAB had largely shifted from a paper-based system to a digital system and was now preparing to introduce the locally developed AI-based research model, NAB-Eye. He said the system was aimed at making investigative and administrative processes faster and more efficient, enabling some procedures that currently took years to be completed within hours.
Nazir said facilitation cells had been established for parliamentarians and business people. He added that NAB had also reduced media briefings and would now hold press conferences twice a year.
SDPI Executive Director Dr Abid Qaiyum Sulheri welcomed the NAB chairman on the occasion. The lecture was primarily organised for SDPI staff and researchers.
